Built from 1971-1875 the Palacio de Gobierno is of neo-classical design and occupies a complete city block between Nicolas Bravo Nte, Primo de Verdad, Santos Degollada Pte and Sebastian Lerdo de Tejarda Pte. It covers a total of 21,775 square meters (234,384 square feet). The building engineer was Ramon Rodriguez Arangoity and Rodriguez Valadez was appointed as a director and builder. It was constructed for a total of 151,000 pesos.
