Long Description:
In 1872 Chief Crowfoot appealed to Bishop Grandin to send priests to help the Blackfoot people. Within two years the Oblates of Mary Immaculate established the first Notre Dame de la Paix mission 25 miles west of Calgary. This church was built in a manner similar to that which was in use in 1875. The church still sees use on special occassions.
