The Rockefeller Chapel was built between 1925 and 1928 without structural steel. It can seat 1700 people.
In 1932 Rockefeller donated the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Memorial Carillon and tower to the chapel. The carillon is the second largest carillon (and the second largest musical instrument) in the world.
The Carillon is receiving a facelift at this time.
