Just outside the historic district of Williams is where you can find this museum. It's owned, operated and is being restored by Pete's son. It's been a station for a very long time but the current building was built in 1949. It operated as a gas station till 1989 when it ceased operation and the tanks were removed from the ground. It sat idle for several years but is now being slowly whipped back into presentable shape. Half of the garage is a museum and the other half is a gift shop. The car out front is Pete's and, though I'm not a car expert and my memory is vague, I think his son said it was a '55 Dodge DeSoto.
Through and through the theme of Pete's is gas station history and it reminded me of Shea's Petroliana Museum in Springfield, IL but on a much smaller scale. You can also see Shea's in this category on Waymarking.com.
