The Porte de France, (or Porte d’Espagne) has a single arch topped by a blind gallery decorated with Tuscan pilasters. In Antiquity, it was flanked by two circular towers.

The walls of Nîmes built in 16-15 BC were 7 km long, enclosing 220 hectares. With a height of 9 m and 2 m wide, they included some ten gates and about 80 towers, including the Tour Magne.
