The Ohio Renaissance Festival occurs Saturday and Sunday every year from early September through late October. The location is a permanent home for the this festival. It can be found just outside Harveysburg, Ohio, adjacent to Ceaser Creek State Park. The 30 acre site holds 12 stages with varying entertainment, and over 130 merchants, along with the food and drinks that go along with a Renaissance Festival.
Each weekend is typically a different theme. From Pirates, to Irish, and Oktoberfest to the Harvest Festival, there is usually something different to see every time. Many shows are performed here as well. The most popular acts are the Full Armor Joust, and any show performed in the "Muditorium." However there is always singing, dancing, comedy, swordfighting, and daredevil type acts all over the grounds.
If shopping is more your style, then you're in luck, because there is plenty of that as well. You can find swords, and daggers, jewelery, clothing, candles, incense, and just about anything else you might imagine you could purchase in 16th century England.
