Seedling mile, Linn county, Iowa - Lincoln Highway Markers on Waymarking.com

This is a new stone marker (completed? couple years ago) for the seedling mile between Cedar Rapids and Mt. Vernon, IA. This used to be marked with a brown metal street sign. Its now a stone block, with a painted L, and a brown enameled plaque. I think this location is actually across the road from the orginal sign.

In this area the road is runing NW/SE as a direct route between CR and MT.Veron. Current HWY30 is about 3 miles south.
