The coordinates listed are for the parking area for the Painted Rock Trail. A short hike ~ 0.5 miles leads to the Painted Rock site itself. This site is located in the Carrizo Plain National Monument. This site is also a heavily used raptor nesting site and is closed to most access from March 1 to July 15 for raptor nesting season.
