The Tucker's Island Lighthouse is the signature building in the new Tuckerton Seaport. The lighthouse features exhibits telling the history of the U.S. Lifesaving Service, Barnegat Bay pirates, and the history of the bay. The original lighthouse was built on Tucker's Island in 1848, reconstructed in 1867 and again, to its current form, in 1879. The lighthouse fell into the sea on October 12, 1927. It has been replicated as part of the Tuckerton Seaport, a project of the Barnegat Bay Decoy & Baym
