"Cars" after Lightning said
"Wouldn't be great to have seen this town in its heyday?"
Well a few folks here in Galena,KS sure are trying.
This little place turned out to be one of the best we saw on our
trip along the Mother Road. They were in the middle of fixing it up
when we pulled up to it.
Galena, KS is where the Pixar folks came across the inpiration
for Mater the tow truck. Some of the folks in Galena took the
initiative and purchased this old sevice station and restored
it.
Now that they've got it almost completed, it's hardly
recognizable.
Now people have a place to go to see the inspiration for
Mater.
"Cars" even inspired someone from Texas to deck out his 2005
Mustang to look like Lightning McQueen
