Text reads: Lawson says he was trying to portray the hardships cowboys and horses endure while doing their job. It is a job still done today, much as it always has been done on ranches all over the country. This museum displays a permanent collection of contemporary Western American Art. More than 200 paintings and sculptures, by more than 100 of the finest 20th century Western artists, depict the history and legends of the Old West, as well as the modern day cowboy and Native Peoples.
