The Tonawanda City Cemetery is one of three cemeteries in close proximity to each other. It is the final resting place of some of Tonawanda's first settlers. However, not much is known about those buried here. From walking around, it seems the earliest burials are from the mid to late 1800s. New burials are still being added. I would estimate there to be around 600 burial sites here. A
Civil War Memorial can also be found inside the cemetery. A few years ago, a new entrance and driveway was added and a new fence was installed around the cemetery. There are two small mausoleums on the north side of the cemetery which formerlly were covered with large trees. Those have been cleaned up as well.
