The Battle of Cowpens was fought on January 17, 1781, during the Southern campaign of the American Revolutionary War. This battle, led by Brigadier General Daniel Morgan, was an overwhelming victory by American Revolutionary forces. Ths battle is remembered as an American tactical masterstroke in the war which was an important turning point in the capture of South Carolina from the British.
