Mount Hope Cemetery was dedicated as a cemetery on October 3, 1838 with 54 acres, it presently has 196 acres. In 1862, local arhitect Henry Searle designed the Gothic Revival chapel inside the north entrance to the cemetery. In 1875 a cast-iron Florentine fountain installed in front of the chapel. The fountain has not worked for a number of years, repairs have been completed and I was able to get a photo of it in it's glory.
