Buffalo Public School No. 3 was built in 1921 and designed by Associated Buffalo Architects. It was one of five similarly designed elementary schools built in Buffalo between 1921 and 1923. The E-shaped floor plan allowed for future expansion, if needed, without compromising the architectural design of the existing portion.
The entrance to the south wing of the school and the southern entrance on the west side were for the girls, while the north wing and north entrance on the west side were for the boys.
The building is now used as the D'Youville Porter Campus elementary school.
