The Dorothy Chandler Pavillion, named for the woman that led the fund-raising efforts for a center to house the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, was one of three buildings in the Los Angeles Music Center that was designed by Welton Beckett. The pavillion, which opened in 1964, features 3,197 seats spread over 4 tiers.
Although the Los Angeles Philharmonic moved to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in 2003, the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion continues to host the Los Angeles Opera.
