The Stalinist Gothic style Northern Passenger Terminal in Moscow was built in 1937 marking the completion of the Moscow Canal connecting the Moscow River with the Volga. The building is supposed to resemble a ship with two decks with the tower representing a mast. The top of the 330 foot spire is decorated with a red star and a hammer and sickle. The star motif also appears in the hour hand on the clock faces.
