S. L. Gould, owner of the Parkersburg Mill Company, built this house in 1888. It remained in the family for about 75 years.
In 1963, the house was converted for business use, and the Parkersburg Chamber of Commerce has used it since 1968.
The Gould house is an important downtown landmark and remains as a significant example of 19th century architecture.
