Commemorating the place where Hessian troops encamped. Yes, the Hessians were on the other side during the Revolutionary War.

It's not often you encounter an historical marker that commemorates the other side in a war. This one is located in West Springfield on the Common at the junction of Main Street and Park Avenue just off Route 20 and west of the North End Bridge Rotary on west side of the Connecticut River.
