The famous Pacific Crest Trail, which runs north to south on the west side of the country, has many beautiful sections and this portion is wonderful if you love wildflowers.
About 1.5 miles from the trail entrypoint at the crest of Chinook Pass you will come across this rough hewn footbridge that crosses the stream running off of the lake. Views from one side look down the stream bed and on the other, across the lake and beyond to Sourdough Gap, high another 2 miles along the trail from this bridge.
