KHOU was the 2nd television station to start broadcasting in the Houston area in 1953. It broadcasts on Analog channel 11 and digital channel 31.
More recently its news studios have been converted to support broadcasting the news with a High Definition picture.
Former anchors include Jim Nantz and Dan Rather.
The station's slogan is "The Spirit of Texas".
