Lived and is buried about 3 1/2 miles southeast. On December 9, 1822, he made a trail through the woods to the new county seat, carrying a crosscut saw, arrived at Huntingdon, he sawed a door in the new log courthouse and thus, as Chairman of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, opened the first session of the court.
