The Scioto County Fair dates from 1894. It is one of the 88 county fairs in the state of Ohio, but we think it is the BEST one!

The week-long Scioto County Fair prominately features activities of the many 4-H clubs in the county as well as the usual competitions in everything from flower arranging to quilting. Special events include a circus, nightly musical performances, equestrian events, and the ever popular demolition derby.

Scioto County is in the south of the state along the Ohio River where the great Scioto River joins it from the north. There is a variety of terrain from the fertile fields in the river valley to the forested hills. It largest city is Portsmouth, once a thriving rail hub and producer of steel, and home of the Portsmouth Spartans, now the Detroit Lions.
