It subsequently changed its name to Shaw Cablesystems Ltd. in 1984, and then to Shaw Communications Inc. in 1993. Shaw has greatly expanded its network and its product and service offerings and is now the leading residential broadband service provider in Western Canada, with approximately 2.1 million cable television customers and more than one million internet customers.
