Boot Hill was the final resting place for many early westerners--cowboys, settlers and drifters--who helped make Ogallala a booming cowtown in the 1870's and 1880's. Most, especially the cowboys, were buried with their boots on, thus the name Boot Hill.Instructions for logging waymark: A photograph is required of you (or your GPS receiver, if you are waymarking solo) and the historical sign.
