The first Episcopalian parish in New Castle was organized on April 24, 1848, but the first church wasn’t built until 1866, on Neshannock Avenue. It was later sold to a Lutheran congregation, and the cornerstone for this Romanesque Revival church was laid in 1901. It is one of two churches included in the North Hill Historic District.
