Sitarra was adopted by Siegfried and Roy in 1983 from the Cincinatti Zoo when she was only 3 days old. The zoo included her with two other white cubs, when they thought stripeless white tigers were sterile. That later proved to be incorrect, when she gave birth to cubs Siegroy, Nevada, and Vegas. A second litter was born in Japan, July 4, 1989. Those cubs were named Red, White, and Blue.
Sitarra was with Siegfried and Roy during their time at the Frontier, Radio City Music Hall and The Mirage. Sitarra passed away of natural causes in May 2004.
Sitarra means "star of India".
