LOCATION.--Lat 33°49'53", long 84°20'34" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, De Kalb County, Hydrologic Unit 03130001, downstream side of bridge on GA 13 (Buford Hwy), 4.1 miles south of the junction of US 23 and GA 155, 2.1 miles north of the confluence of the Peachtree Creek.
The gauge is on the north west side of the bridge, waymark, DeKalb Co, Ga. Station 645, a DeKalb Co. survey station is located on the south west end of this bridge also.
DRAINAGE AREA.--34.8 mi².
GAGE.--Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder and a continuous water-quality monitor. Datum of gage is 810 feet above National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929 (from topographic map).
COOPERATION.--City of Atlanta.
REMARKS.--Discharge records good, except for estimated discharge, which is poor. Gage-height records good.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge recorded, 5,530 cfs, September 16, 2004; maximum gage-height recorded, 17.70 feet, September 16, 2004; minimum daily discharge recorded, 7.8 cfs, July 23, 2004.
EXTREMES FOR CURRENT YEAR.--Maximum discharge recorded, 3,130 cfs, March 31; maximum gage-height recorded, 13.74 feet, March 31; minimum gage-height recorded, 3.79 feet, September 30; minimum daily discharge recorded, 10 cfs, September 24.
