From the theatre you can climb the broad steps to the platform of what was once an imposing temple. It was built around 50-75 AD, at the same time as the first instance of the theatre across from it.

The is one of many traces of the Roman civilization in what is now the town of Augst in Switzerland. The Roman temple was constructed after Mediterranean examples on top of an older, Gallo-Roman square temple.
