The Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center is located about 10 miles west of Fredericksburg on Route 3. It is open daily from 8:30-6:30 through September 3. After that, it is open 9:00-5:00 on weekdays and 9:00-6:00 on weekends through the end of October. The grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk. The park is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
The battle at Chancellorsville was a great victory for General Lee, but also marked the mortal wounding of Stonewall Jackson by friendly fire. More details on the battle of Chancellorsville can be found here.
