Route 66, the Lincoln Highway and the Dixie Highway all passed through Joliet at one time or another. This marker has a somewhat hidden location behind all of the glitz of the Route 66 Welcome Center. To find the marker. Walk straight through the museum to the back and you'll find a small courtyard and smoking area. The highway marker is in this courtyard, and can be seen from either inside or out.
