Fair Haven Beach State Park is a campers paradise with 38 cabins
available for rent. These cabins were built back in the late
1930's by WPA workers and also by POW'S during WW II as well. Most
of the cabins are still in use today with only a few more modern
upgrades, such as insulation, beds and appliances. The rustic
appearance of the cabins still looks great and shows just how
well the structures were put together, using logs from the
surrounding woods, as the frame and the walls. A tribute to the
craftsmanship of the men that built them.
Project type: Park structure/building (other than lodge)
Date built or created: 1935
Location: Fair Haven Beach State Park
City: Fair Haven
Condition: Good upkeep with a little wear and tear
