Sculpture commissioned by trust for Henry J. Kiener, a steel executive and lifelong athlete who had been an Olympic high-hurdler who had bequested funds for an athletic sculpture and foundation. The 14-foot sculpture was sculpted by William Zorach and is the focal point in the downtown Kiener Plaza.
