Father Baker, Supt. of These Charities (1882-1936), dedicated his life's work to Our Lady of Victory. He developed the institutions, founding the Infant Home, the Hospital, several schools and crowned his life by the building of the Basilica in 1928 from donations received from every state in the Union.
