Originally built as a passenger depot for the Elgin, Joliet, and Eastern Railway, the Joliet Fire Department's Station #1 was also formally a furniture store.
Today, it houses administrative offices, 2 fire trucks, an ambulance, and water rescue unit.
Outside the building, a firefighter memorial is on display.
