Long Description:
This trail is the southern entrance to South Signal Mountain and
North Signal Mountain. From the trailhead you will climb steeply to
the north for about 3/4 of a mile, where you will intersect the
Indian/Miller Fork Trail heading steemply uphill to the northeast.
From here the trail swings back to the northwest, climbing through
an evergreen forest along Bulwark Ridge. For about the next 3
miles, the trail will traverse the Comanche Peak Wilderness
boundary. Since this is a southerly facing slope, it can be quite
dry and hot during the summer months. No water is available on the
trail. The views from the top of signal mountain are well worth the
hike.
