Gaitskill Mound - New World Ancient Evidence on Waymarking.com

I have driven by this one many times, and have even taken prior pictures of it, hoping to log it somewhere. The Boy and I were out and about and stopped by to snap the attached pictures.

You don't even have to get out of the car to do this one. They built a shopping center right next door, and even a retaining wall into the side of the mound.

This is an Adena mound. One day, a bunch of the boys were sitting around with nothing to do. Utuk, being a man of few words, said to the rest of his homeboys, "Oyay wa ne sawa du."*

*Loosely translated, "Boy, I am bored sh**less. Let's move a bunch of this dirt into a real big pile."

The rest is history. Enjoy.
