Marchants Bridge is a small bridge over the River Meavy.
There are some stepping stones are a few yards down river from the bridge on the higher side of the ford. The ford and the stepping stones preceded the bridge.
The bridge is on the ancient route walked by monks.
The monks would have used this route on their way from Plympton Priory to Buckland or Tavistock Abbeys, the bridge was probably built to keep them dry when the river flooded.
