This monument has something to do with the nearby Bois Blanc Island lighthouse. It is a mystery why it is located where it is, half way out to the lighthouse on Lighthouse Point.

To get to Bois Blanc Island you must take a ferry from Cheboygan. Bring a car, 4-wheel ORV's, or bikes. If you like nature, you will enjoy this place. One resturant, one tavern, primitive camping on the north shore. There are a few places to stay. There are a few hook-ups at the tavern for travel trailers.

Three monuments have been located. Two mark section boundries. The one shown is not on any known boundry line. Maybe you can tell me why it is there. It is in a high and dry location and is near the lake.

There are geocaches nearby. The zip code is 49775.

The term "establishment" was discontinued around 1900, so the monuments probably pre-date that time. The lighthouse site dates to 1829. The present lighthouse is the third one built there. It was built in 1867. It is privately owned, but is surrounded by state land.
