This historic old building was in danger of being demolished in the early 1980s to make way for a freeway. It's National Register status and a lawsuit blocked the demolition and the freeway has been routed around it.

An Oklahoma City developer had this building constructed in 1930. It is similar to another John J Harden project in Oklahoma City. Retail businesses were in the main building (with the tower). Farmers sold their produce from the shed that wraps around the back of the main building. It was in use in this manner until 1941.
Later it housed a number of businesses, notably Cadillac Plastics. The building stands almost empty right now, but it is for lease.
The tower is a USCGS "Benchmark", 135 feet tall at the top of the flagstaff.
Be sure to click one of the links below and look at a satellite photograph so the layout of the buildings can be seen.
