Russ RuBert of Colorado Springs, CO designed this sculpture, and also constructed three benches for the site.

I visited the site and found two warning signs in place. One cautioned that the benches get very hot in the sun. Users should "test" the situation with their hands before sitting down. Ouch! We get the idea!

The second sign was accompanied by orange netting around the site. It advised that the sculpture was "under study for safety issues". Hmmm. were people climbing the beams?

Back home, I looked at a press release photo and saw that there was a "top" to the beams. It now is gone. Perhaps there was a danger that it might fall off and hit someone (while they were climbing the beams, or sitting on a hot bench).

Art can be complicated!

To reach the park from Highway NC-55, go north from High House Road. Turn left onto Green Hope School Road and go west about a mile. Then left on Sears Farm Road. The park will be 0.2 mile on your right. There is a parking area, just past the sculpture.
