Salem Shoe Tree - Illinois - Shoe Trees on Waymarking.com

This midwest shoe tree has been featured in a local sunday newspaper. It has all sorts of shoes, most have been decorated before being tossed into the tree. If you look close you will even see a pair of clown shoes, and a leg brace. It is located on the east side of Illinois State highway 37 as you drive north out of Salem. It's only about a mile from interstate 57.

The owner of this property has a garden of a special kind. Not only will you get to see this beautiful shoe tree, but you'll see a bumper crop, a beer garden, a flower bed, and many other interesting works of art.

The owner does allow people to enter the grounds and see all of his works during daylight hours. Spend an hour here. Everything is in plane view.
