The public is allowed to climb the tower however the catwalk and platform are not open. The tower was built by Missouri Department of Conservation in 1949. The height of the tower is 72 feet and located at an elevation of 1759', the highest point in Missouri is higher up the summit at 1772'. Parking is available about 100 feet from tower.
