The following is an excerpt from Missouri: A Guide to the 'Show Me' State, 1941 in the Tour 13 section the passage is about Caledonia:

Its two most pretentious homes are the Jane Thompson House, a two-story brick building with a Classic-Revival doorway, erected in 1848, and the Martin Ruggles House, also a two-story brick dwelling with Classic-Revival details, built in 1852 to "surpass the grandeur" of the Thompson house.

The house is a contributing property in the Caledonia Historical District on the National Register of Historic Places.  The house is well maintained and used as a bed and breakfast "The Old Brick House Bed & Breakfast"
