Long Description:
The Christiansburg Post Office is located on a small town square, at 2 East Main Street, Christiansburg, Virginia 24073. Several years ago the Federal Government announced plans to close this post office and relocate to a larger more modern facility outside of town, however local resident organized in protest and persuaded authorities to keep their downtown post office open. This post office was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. This post office continues to serve the downtown residents, while the new modern facility was built outside of downtown on Arbor Drive.
