Boulevard and Center Street the mural is part of an ongoing effort of the Provo Downtown
Alliance to make downtown Provo more pleasant.
The mural is 75 feet long and will depict
keystones of downtown Provo's history. The first panel shows
Fort Provo which was one of the first settlements of Provo. The
second scene is of a woolen mill. Mills used to play a key role
in Provo's industry. Next is seen the railroad which used to go
right along where the mural is located now. And last is one of the first district
schools of the area. The mural is predicted to be completer in
September when an unveiling will take place.
About the artists:

Asen Balakchiev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria where he
obtained a masters in Art from the National Art academy.
Three years ago he relocated with his family to Provo, Utah.
Asen has realized many other projects and
monuments mainly in Europe and filled the position of Senior
Artist for a time in Sofia Bulgaria for the government.
He is married to Antoaneta Balakchieva who is also an
artist and have a daughter Ana and a son Milko who also have artistic
