Robert F. Carr Memorial Chapel of St. Savior built in 1952 is the only Mies designed building which was intended for religious services. The one-story church building is also unique among the Mies campus buildings in that it has brick load-bearing walls, lacking any steel framing. The church building is noted for its austere and unadorned interior with a simple stainless steel cross over the alter.
Architect: Ludwig Mies van der Rohe

Building Type: Other

Date Built: 1952

City building is located in: Chicago, Illinois
