Many travelers zip past this attraction, not realizing it is here. There are no signs, and the waterfall is unnamed.
Pull into the Rough Ridge Overlook at Milepost 302.8 and use this a "leg-stretcher" and photo backdrop. The visible portion of the drop is about 50 feet. A short trail leads to a wooden bridge at the top of the falls, along a portion of the Mountains-to-Sea trail.
The elevation at the parking area is approximately 4,293. The trail leads up the side of the mountain to a wooden observation platform (which is necessary to protect sensitive vegetation).
