This railroad station is quite visible as one travels through Union City. The entrance drive for the station is located on Route 6 just east of the center of town. Union City was a very early center of wood processing and furniture manufacturing so it was a logical early railroad stop. The Ethan Allen plant has closed within the last five years, and was the last large furniture factory in the town.
The station was built in 1903 and is in very good condition. It is still in use as offices for a lumber company. Visitors to the station should take note of a benchmark in the side of the building about head high. The benchmark is in good condition.
