The Brown County Museum is operated by the Brown County Historical Society. It has a nice collection of local history artifacts and photographs. The museum also has an old-time. soda fountain display. The museum has various military artifacts from the Spanish American War to more recent artifacts. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was built as a lasting memorial to World War I veterans by the citizens of Hiawatha.
